What I’m Wearing To Sessions

One question I get often is “What should I wear?” The answer is: choose something you’re comfortable in and makes you feel like you!

Seems like a no brainer but it took me a long time to realize that I could love someone else’s look or the latest trend but know it wouldn’t work for me. I love dressing up but always with a slightly relaxed vibe. I just can’t pull off 4” stilettos AND a skinny jean. Not gonna happen. But a 4” wedge with a wide leg pant, sign me up. Everyone has their own style so I encourage you to lean into yours for your next photo shoot!

Flipping the camera around for a sec, here’s a look at some of my favorite things to throw on when I’m capturing you!

I’m obsessed with my denim maxi with some wallabees (below) for shoots or clogs to head out for dinner or drinks after. It’s casual but just a little elevated. Maybe it’s just a NC thing though?!

The old school wallabee is my “go to” shoe to shoot in. It’s the most comfortable thing to put on my feet and let’s me walk through all kinds of terrain. Bonus that it has a little platform so I gain a few extra inches!

My hands are super busy so whether I’m shooting and need my fingers to change settings, flip through shots or tame fly away hair, cashmere fingerless gloves have been my must have for years and these from Vince are easy-er on the wallet than most.

I can shoot (almost!) year round in North Carolina but I always have this little number in my car for when the sun starts to fade. It’s roomy enough in the arms to allow me to move but def keeps me toasty. It’s the perfect travel wrap on flights too!

Get cozy & comfortable this fall in whatever aligns most with who you are - and don’t forget to turn the camera on you once in a while too!
